THE FULL MOON NIGHT!

This photograph was captured on an auspicious Full Moon night in 2015 at Dharmanagar, North Tripura. In Northern India, Rakhi Purnima is also known as Kajri Purnima or Kajri Navami, a time when wheat and barley are sown, and goddess Bhagwati is revered. In the western states, the festival takes on the name Nariyal Purnima, or the Coconut Full Moon, while in Southern India, Shravan Purnima holds great religious significance, especially among Brahmins.

Raksha Bandhan is celebrated under various names, each highlighting its spiritual essence—Vish Tarak, symbolizing the destroyer of venom; Punya Pradayak, the bestower of blessings; and Pap Nashak, the eradicator of sins.
