“Ten Days Door to Door Mass Campaign” was organized by District legal Service Authority (DLSA), North Tripura on 09th to 18th November, 2017. A prior meeting was organized in the District Courts to discuss the modalities of “Mass Door to Door Campaign”. This campaign was basically for those people who are deprived of the needs which they require.

A door-to-door campaign drive at Jalabasha GP under Panisagar Police Station was triggered by Anjana Chakraborty, Panel-Lawyer and Gopika Kanta Dutta, Para-Legal Volunteer on pertaining issues in the society and their silence among people and the dependence perpetuated upon them. Both pre and post marriage issues were also highlighted and a message was given to empower the women. We gave them full information about District Legal Services Authorities and the aims on which they focus. The services which they offer are free for women, children (under the age of 18 years), old people and others. Also informed them about the free legal services which they can avail in connection with Section 12 of The Legal Services Authority Act, 1987. Helpline number – 1516, which is 24X7 available, can be accessed at any time. We also provided awareness about the rights of wife, children and parents of getting maintenance money in cases where husband – wife or parents are living separately due to some fight or dispute. Our efforts were appreciated by these kind people and we succeeded in our motive to inform them about the free legal services which are being provided to them by NALSA.

This opportunity was a learning experience for us. We got to know how people living in these areas what their lifestyle is and representing amongst them was an enriching experience. The motive with which we went there was fulfilled when people understood what we were trying to convey it to them. Educating such people is necessary and with this we gave them a thought of mind to think and act in future accordingly.
